Activities : Ladies Bible Study
The Aim of women’s work is to encourage women to be disciples: in their home, church and community. To accomplish this we provide for all three ministries: home, church and community.
Personal & Home
From September to Christmas we work together in Bible Studies: this year completing our treatment of ‘Women in the Old Testament’. We seek to learn from their lives and experience and place the lessons practically into our own life situation. We also suggest and encourage reading spiritual books to enrich our personal lives. During this term we have a ‘breakfast’ together to encourage fellowship and we invite a conference speaker with a subject which fits into our Studies.
Our programme is planned to set to enable women to support the church in all their activities.
Each year we organise a ‘Knight OUT’ for supper and bowling as a launch into our new church year. Throughout the year then we get involved in other various activities including:
- Supporting the Coffee Morning each Thursday as a way to reach the community
- On Monday nights women have a choice of activities according to their personal interest; eg Badminton for the energetic: or KNIT AND KNATTER group where blankets, hats and scarves are made ready for sending to countries where they are needed,
- Spring time offers an opportunity to ‘KEEP FIT’ by walks of two to four miles followed by a light healthy living supper and chat.
- Our February meeting is a missionary night: interest is shown by a special offering. Also we have a project each Christmas to support a mission work: usually one we have been following during the year.
